When do interviews typically begin for the 2019-2020 cycle? Is it a disadvantage if you cannot go to an earlier interview and have to postpone to a later date? I am currently living abroad and will not be back in the states until late December. I don't really have the finances to fly back and forth and I don't want to miss too much school (currently doing my MPH).

You just have to remember that it’s a rolling admissions process. That applies to every aspect of the cycle. If you interview latter, then your chances are automatically lower because there are less seats available. Also, I’m not sure how accommodating schools will be about II. You may not get an option to defer an interview until after December if you are only given options for earlier in the fall.

Interviewing later is a disadvantage, so I wouldn’t postpone till after December. But most school start interviews around July/August and run till February/March, some go through April
