Hi everyone,

I've looked but can't seem to find an answer. When do my USMLE scores transmit to ERAS? When I submit my CAF? Or when I apply to my first program? Or another time?

Thanks to whomever answers my question!

they would be transmitted only when you apply to programs .... you could check the ADTS section in ERAS to see if they are being transmitted at that time ....

so only when I apply to programs...

so if I apply to a program and my step II score isn't available then they would only get my step I score.

but if I apply to a second program later on, but at that time both step II and step I are available at that time, then both my scores would be sent.

Is this right?

I just took my step II in July and I was trying to find a way to block my step II scores from showing up to programs. I figure I'd like to option to send it on my own after I see the scores myself...any way to do that now?

I thought ERAS grabbed my scores once, and whatever was available is what would be grabbed....and then every time I sent a score it would be what was grabbed that one time....but I must be wrong then, right?

I don't know how it works if your score is in progress but if you make sure to indicate that you do not want any future scores automatically transmitted then ERAS won't send you CK and CS if you haven't taken it already. So, for your $50 it will send your step 1 and I guess any other currently scored steps but after that you have to manually go in and tell it to transmit your new scores (and it may be for an extra fee..I don't really know). Again, I don't know what happens if you have taken Step 2 prior to submitting your app but the scores aren't in yet.

Anyone else know what happens if you take Step 2 before you submit your application, but the scores aren't in yet? Will the residency programs automatically get an update when the Step 2 score is in, or should I wait until the Step 2 scores are back to submit my application so they don't start evaluating me without the Step 2 score? Thanks for any info.

I submitted MyERAS and applied to programs. Prior to submitting, I did release my USMLE Transcript.

However, now under "track applications" it says about "USMLE Transcript: Not Uploaded to PostOffice yet".

Do I need to do anything other than release my USMLE on ERAS about getting my USMLE Transcript to ERAS? Or will it automatically upload soon, now that I have submitted?

Thanks.

It depends on what choice you selected on your USMLE transcript request on ERAS. There is one question asking that while you are waiting to take USMLE or have pending results, if you would like the results automatically transmitted to the programs that you apply to. If you checked yes, then scores will automatically be sent to programs when they become available. If you checked no, then programs will not receive your score. If you happen to like your score, you can resend it to programs, but I heard this takes some extra time. If you don't like your score, it seems like a good option to hold scores, but programs will probably suspect that you didn't do so well. In either case, it's probably to your advantage that you submit your app early. Some programs send interview invitations even when the app is not complete.

from what i can tell, it takes 3-5 working days after submitting your application to get the USMLE transcript sent (this is per the q&a section of ERAS). they have to contact NBME to get the release, etc.

i submitted yesterday, and my uslme scores were uploaded this morning.

Mine were uploaded today as well... I submitted on Sunday night

Yup, mine were uploaded today, as well. Submitted ERAS Saturday morning.
