Hey Guys,
Does anyone know the time frame in which the majority of schools start with rejections? I know a couple schools have already but not many at all.
I ask because I applied first batch and their are some schools that began offering interviews over a month ago whom I haven't heard from.
Just want to try to get an idea of which schools to not get my hopes up about. Thanks

I am curious about this one. mine was fully completed on 7/29. From some schools, I haven't heard back at all.
Even if I call schools to check on status, I don't think they would just tell me that I am rejected or not. That may be against the policy.

There is not a cutoff date for rejections. Many schools have already begun sending out rejections. Granted, a lot of them will come later on, but there is not hard cutoff date like there is for acceptances.

There isn't even a hard cutoff date for acceptances either...

Dec 1 is just the EARLIEST you can hear by. Many people don't get decisions until a few days after Dec 1 (Dec 2, 3 for example) even with PreDec1 interview.

I guess all we can do is wait to know for sure

Do they specify why you were rejected or what you can do to improve your application or is it just a straight rejection?

So far from my two rejections, ASDOH and UNLV, there were no reasons as to why I was rejected, just that "this years applicant pool was very competitive, and you didn't make the cut" something along the lines of that.

Other schools may be different. It would be nice for a school to specifically tailor a rejection letter for their applicants, but most likely than not they are probably just generic with your name on it.

lol, since he was asking about when rejections begin, I was using the word cutoff as a reference to when they can start rejecting, similar to to the Dec 1st cutoff for acceptances.

No clue... I have not received a rejection yet. However, I am assuming that they would simply "regret to inform you that you have not been accepted to their program." Or something of that nature. I would be surprised if they let you know how to improve your application in the rejection letter itself. You would probably have more luck finding out that kind of information if you called the admissions office. If anyone is more familiar with this, please chime in!

I completed my application to Louisville at the end of July, didn't get an interview even though ppl with applications later than mine got interviews.

Should I call them and ask why I didn't get one? or is there still a chance?

i'd definitely suggest you suffer the wait with the rest of us...there's a fine line between being eager and being a bother. ESPECIALLY now when the offices are so busy. i'd rather them be looking at my application, getting ready to call me than answering a call from me that might STOP them from looking at it. lol they better not be taking breaks in those offices!

Does anyone know if schools ever send rejections before December 1st if you interviewed there already?

does anyone know if schools send out a round of rejections on dec 1? to both interviewed and noninterviewed applicants?

I'm fairly certain that doesn't happen... But others can definitely correct me if they've seen otherwise!

This is a month old, but i just saw it.

ASDOH is one that will send you a reject after a pre-December interview and before December 1. One to two weeks after your pre-December interview you will either get a reject letter or a we-are-still-looking-at-you letter. It's nice to know if you're out, I suppose, but it's the only exception of which I am aware.

They interview a lot of people, so this is good information to have!

I got one rejection so far from a school at the bottom of my list. Feeling disenfranchised, I sent an email to the Director of Admissions inviting him to kiss my ass. I'm still waiting for a reply.
