when do schools get back to you for either interview or rejection?

Hey guys,

Please Help!! I have been waiting anxiously for UMDNJ-SOM and MSUCOM to get back to me, after submitting the supplemental materials? (they were sent in early november) How long does it take for them to invite you for an interview?? Or do they even send you a rejection letter, if they aren't even considering you?

Guess it really depends on the school, some will get back with you sooner than others. If you are really concerned about your application, you should call and keep bugging them until you get a response. Some schools will get you in for an interview within a matter of a month or sooner, while others are already saying it will be february-April before they can get you in. In most cases you will get a letter (email) of rejection stating that your application is no longer being considerd and to consider their post-bacc to strengthen your app.

I know that the admission's committee at MSUCOM meets every Wednesday and they are really fast about letting you know. I interviewed there Nov 16 and I was notified on Dec. 1, and sometimes it is faster than this since they didn't meet the Wed. before Thanksgiving.

MSUCOM took about 3 weeks before inviting me to interview, and another 2 weeks after it to accept me. However, it can take up to 6-8 weeks if they put you in the "maybe" pile.

Anywhere between when they recieved your application and when they they send out the last round of interviews. That is normally late spring---you may not hear until then, whether it's good or bad.

Yeah it all depends on how often the adcoms meet. Some meet once a month, others twice a month to once a week.

I'm still waiting for a rejection letter from some places from 2002 😱 🙄
