When do schools start reviewing your app?

I e-submitted my PharmCAS application and supplementals. My PharmCAS GPA has been calculated. However, under Status, it says my application has not been mailed out to the designated schools yet.

Can schools start reviewing my application even though they have not received a hard copy of my PharmCAS application? I heard they can still access an electronic version immediately. I hope it does not take long for PharmCAS to mail them out. Thanks for the help. 🙁

From what I know they don't have access to anything online, they won't see your app until they receive it in the mail. But as long as you e-sub'd by the pharmcas deadline you will be ok.

Once PharmCAS has calculated your GPA, it takes about 1 week fo them to mail your app to your designated schools. I e-submitted mine in the beginning of Jan., took two weeks for them to verify & calculate my GPA, then another week to send my app. in all, from the time frame of JAN 5-Jan 25th my schools got my application 🙂

Again for you, PharmCAS should be mailing yours soon...

Thanks for the response! Do you remember how long it took for your applications to be mailed out to your schools after GPA calculation? Furthermore, approximately how long did it take for your schools to confirm that they received your application after it says they were mailed out on the PharmCAS Status box? Thanks!

actually i have been contacted by a school before the apps were officially mailed out by pharmcas, they emailed me and ask something about my transcript/prereq, so obviously they had access, but i dont think anyone will review your app until they get the whole thing, usually takes a few weeks to mailout

So I submitted my original application in August, status changed to mailed. Then I did my academic update and got my transcripts sent to them. Status changed to revised with the date next to it. Now my GPA has been calculated and says the date next to it, but still revised. Does anyone know if the schools will be able to view my app or does the status have to be changed to mailed for them to see my finalized application?

schools have access to your application once you submit to pharmcas. One of the schools I applied to emailed me right after I submitted my pharmcas application to tell me what prereqs I had to complete before I could be fully accepted to their program.

I don't know if this is true for all pharmacy schools, but Joel from UCSF pharmacy admissions mentioned in his blog an electronic database that his school gets from PharmCAS. I think schools can probably see our PharmCAS application before it's mailed. Do a google search to find his blog; he's got some helpful info on there.

It was before the GPA calculation. I don't know if they start considering you for admissions.

I e-submitted to PharmCAS 11/24... Jefferson sent me an interview invite 12/2... PharmCAS officially mailed my application 12/7. So apparently some schools will review the apps electronically. Granted my application was complete months prior tho (meaning GPAs were calculated and LORs were sent in etc).

Amazing, TJU must really like you! I'm applying very late to Jefferson so that probably hurts my chances like crazy. 🙁
