Hey guys,
I found this in the pre-allopathic forum, but I'm wondering if it's also true for people applying to MD/PhD programs. Any info would be great. thanks.

"So if I were to submit the app on june 1st when they allow us to, when should the secondaries start coming around?"

1. be prepared for them not to let you submit till mid June. For some reason the submission deadline always seems to slip a little.

2. but given that, if you took the April MCAT and have all your transcripts already submitted, it should only take 3 weeks or so for verification and another 3 weeks or so for the very earliest secondaries to arrive - which will depend on the school. Some schools will not start reviewing apps till later.

This is a small piece of advice I always give my juniors. Many, many schools have their secondaries already uploaded onto their websites. Many, many schools don't screen their applicants after the AMCAS, and so they would automatically give you clearance to fill up the secondary.

So, for all those applicants out there:

1. Find the secondary online for the school (if there is one)
2. Start filling it up, and by all means, call the school ahead of time to make sure if you can send in the secondary, anyway.
(most schools just want your cheque).

Good luck!! Early, early, early !!

Yes dot, that is true. From most schools you will receive the MSTP secondaries the same time as MD secondaries, either in July or August. Some however, are kind of late: e.g. I received the Northwestern secondary invitation pretty late and I could not fill it out until I recieved that invication. For most schools, submit the secondary when you recieve it on paper or online before or when you are invited. Check it out for each school you are applying to either at their website or on the pre-allo forum.

Good luck!
