Hi, I was wondering when we ignore solids and liquids.

Does it apply for equilibrium, rate reactions, etc?

Yes to both. Since solids adn liquids do not appreciably change density under heating or pressure, they generally have constant concentration. In general, any reactant whose concentration does not appreciably change has can be incorporated into the constant for the type of reaction or problem one is dealing with. For solids and liquids, surface area is much more important than concentration.

Also, remember that solids and liquids have no effect on the questions dealing with Le Chateliers Principle.
