When do we apply for financial aid?

If we are applying for fall 05 admissions, when do we apply for financial aid? Do we just fill out the FAFSA for the upcoming year? Do we get information from schools about applying? Is it like undergard when you apply for financial aid with your overall application? Thanks for your advice.

You fill it out as early as Jan 1st, 2005. IF you have not been accepted to a school by this time and you want to fill it out already just list all schools that you still have a chance at being accepted.

What drbenj said is exactly right. In addition, when you are accepted and want to get private loans in addition to Federal Stafford Loans, you have to fill out additional applications that will be available to you from the schools. Don't worry about financial aid too much until you are in (besides the FAFSA).

Ed, my man, you worry too much, you need to take a chill pill and relax about all this stuff. Worry about your application now and all this other stuff once you are accepted. You are a long way from worrying about money matters. Try some Yoga, maybe even some golf.
