When do we become licensed?

It's my understanding that you become a fully licensed physician upon successful completion of Step III of the COMLEX board exam. Also, I'm pretty sure this is taken during or after your first year of post-graduate training, which would be either internship or first year of residency.
If I'm wrong about this anyone, please correct me. Thanks.

Yes, I took step III at the end of intern year. Once you pass that exam then you can apply for a license to practice.
You become board certified when you take the board certification exam during the last year of residency.
Some states require other exams as well.
Texas requires a Jurisprudence exam be passed before they will license you
Then you have to apply for a DPS number before you can apply for a DEA number in TX
Oregon requires an online pharmacy exam (open book)
Nevada requires that you apply for a physicians pharmacy dispensing license and that you go through FCVS
Off course all state require a federal background check and fingerprinting to be on file before they start processing.
