As far as I know, you don't. The school gets the money right when school starts. For me that was mid-late august. And its dispersed per semester. If the balance is greater than your billed costs, the school will issue you a refund.
you get to view your financial package sometime April-May (atleast for my school). In terms of disbursement, your school's financial aid website should provide you with dates when the funds will be released in the Fall/Spring (Early/Mid August for my school).
