When do we get our contracts?

I'm wondering if any current residents can offer information about when we get our contracts for residency. I plan on buying and I will need it for proof of income for my next house.

Supposedly we start on July 1st, but many of the programs have at least a 1 week orientation period prior to that. Is that orientation week compensated$$$$? 😎

Orientation week is rarely compensated...and they often hold your first two week's pay as well so don't expect to get paid until the end of July.

You'll get your contracts in May-ish in the mail - you can always get it earlier from your PD secretary.

You obviously haven't applied for a mortgage yet my fine feathered friend. One weeks pay is about $800. and I had heard that 1st check
was delayed also. My wife and I are still crunching the numbers to see how we can make day care payments!! If you're single a residents salary is ok, but with three dependents.....give me a break. But I'll survive, but boy, that extra weeks pay would be nice!! 😀

I'm feeling your pain Apache, especially since when we move hubby won't be working right away Im hoping to have money saved for the move to live on until he gets work!

Hey Poety,

I didn't sign my contract until I arrived for orientation. However, a week or so after the match, we got a letter which stated that we were accepted to the program and that our salary was $ XXX, just for housing, etc. purposes. So after you match, ask the program coordinator how you can get a letter with that information in it. Best of luck in the housing search process!

It's not a joke. I was just amused by your totally different perspective. I'm thinking "hope I match, hope I match, hope I match", while you on the other hand are more like "damn, I'm sick of this crap, when do I get my frickin contract". 🙂
