So, I feel like I'm getting to things a little later than everyone else in this forum....... I've always been a procrastinator... But I completed everything on Optomcas Oct. 6. and my status says they finally got mailed out to all the schools today. I applied to SUNY, PCO, and New England. How long does it usually take to here about an interview and how do they contact you?

Also, another question. I filled out my SUNY app and submitted that on Oct. 6th as well, but I haven't sent in my SAT scores. I got a 390 on RC and 380 on QR, A's in my english classes and B+ in calc. Are they really gonna not contact me if I can't get them in. I don't even know if my high school still has that stuff.

Do you mean OAT instead of SAT? if so you did really well on your RC and QR, no school would reject you because of those.

Acutally, SUNY does require SAT scores in addition to OATs. I would just contact College Board to have your SATs sent out, just in case. If you log into collegeboard.com or call up their number they can direct you to your online collegeboard account. There you'll be able to request to have your SAT scores sent out to however many addresses you'd like (for a fee, of course!).

...But if you don't want to do that, then just call up Admissions and ask their opinion 🙂

Good luck!

Thanks, I'll just give them a call. I hate paying fees for stuff that really won't even matter. And can anyone help me out with my first question about how long it usually takes to hear about an interview?

To answer your question about time:

Once the schools I applied to received my completed application (SUNY, Salus, and ICO, and yes I'd already sent SUNY my SAT scores) I got interview invites from each school within two weeks. I already have one acceptance; I never imagined I'd get one so quickly! And if anyone asks, I'm not posting on the acceptances thread until I make my final decision. I honestly don't know why SUNY wants SAT scores though, because the RC on the OAT is at least as difficult (I think) as the SAT verbal, and the SAT math can't be any harder than the OAT QR section. I guess there is, for the younger applicants, the additional SAT writing score. Maybe it's to help SUNY's ad com properly evaluate an applicant's trends from college by using the SAT as some indicator of said applicant's academic ability when starting undergrad?
