hi guys, Looking down the barrel of a C+ in evolution right now. I know it's only half way through the semester but it's not gonna go up much. I'm applying this summer so if I tank it I can't get my GPA up in time at all. I'm saying I take the W if I get below a flat B but even that's a lot up from my current grade. Thanks for the help . I know a C+ isn't horrible but the amount that will bring my BCPM down is a lot more than a W would.

Also, consider it in the light of the fact that I don't have more time to put into it because I'm studying for the MCAT right now, so please don't just say "study harder/put more time into it"

BCPM rn of 3.77 (not SpEcTaCuLaR but I'm content with it) I do need it for graduation but I can take it over summer and I'll finish after I apply so the grade wouldn't technically be on AMCAS but W would be

Just take it and pass it. 3.70 is close enough to 3.77. Why waste time and pay twice? It’s not going to be what keeps you out of medical school.

Hahaha ok seems pretty unanimous. However, if I drop more, at what point would you take a W, like in stead of what grade? Thanks all.

Below a C since most schools and med schools will need a C or better to be considered passing.

I thought I was 100% going to get a C in my evolution class (i.e. got 2 Cs on exams), actually thought I was going to get a few Cs that semester. Turned out I got all As lol. Just saying, never count yourself out, especially when you have half of the semester to go and the final exam

:arghh:my evolution class only has two exams at all,(plus homework for 25% of class) if I don't absolutely crush the next exam and final:boom:

Over 50% of your grade is still to be decided, and often if you show professors that the one exam was a fluke they’ll weight it less...

@Detective SnowBucket 100% on homework assignments (.25) and 75% on exams (.75) still nets you an 81.25% for the class. Assuming you are more prepared and understand the errors of the first exam, you are on track to score a B. Conservative estimate being a B- if your school offers such scores. An optimistic estimate being a B+/A-
