First time going to a University. I used to register for class at my CC a month prior, but when i look at the classes available for the fall semester at the university(first class is august 28th), i see only 2 chem 2045 classes

That CAN'T be right, there's no way there can only be TWO chem classes lol.

I can only speak for the school I attend, but people usually register well ahead of time. At TAMU there is an orientation where incoming freshman or transfer students meet their advisor (after being brainwashed of course) and sign up for classes, the summer or semester before starting as a student. For continuing students, you register in the middle to late part of the prior semester. I'm sure this system is fairly standard though I could be wrong.

It is possible (but unlikely I think, and hopefully not the case for you) that continuing students have already snapped up most of the seats in classes you want to take. Now there's a scary thought.

Ya that's what I thought at first, but apparently they haven't (can look at seats that aren't open too)
