I have a few secondaries sitting in my inbox, and it's been close to two months now since I've received them. Some of these schools are schools for which I had a slim chance, such as public schools for which I would be considered an OOS applicant or an IV league.
Would it be worth turning in the secondaries right now, or would it simply be a waste of money? I'm not sure how much my chances for an interview are lowered this late into the cycle.
Any advice or experiences about a similar situation? Thanks.
As a side note, my GPA and MCAT scores aren't remarkable, but higher than average. My extracurriculars on the other hand are lower than average.

Submit them NOW. Do them all tonight and submit them. You never know; one of those schools could end up being the only one that accepts you.

One wonders why you sent the primary to them in the first place.

I echo the above sentiment.

Some schools don't care at all about when you turn in your secondaries, even if its been months since you received them. I've heard this from the Admissions counselors from 2 schools. I would say send them in anyway

It might be a waste of money but you have a 0% chance of getting into a school you don't apply to. If you do apply, you might get an interview and end up with an acceptance. So why not try? The interview season just started and the deadline for secondaries isn't over yet so it wouldn't hurt to send them. The worst that can happen is a rejection letter.

psshh I hope it's not too late! Just getting my MCAT scores Tuesday! Fudge it, turn them in. In the long run what's the big deal. I'm broke myself, but in the long run it's worth a shot to turn them in

Seconded. My primary just got verified, so I have turned in a total of 2 secondaries.

If it hits November and you still haven't turned them in, save the money. But Sept/Oct is late-ish, not doom. Turn 'em in. 🙂

The same mantra people who compulsively play the lottery use.

Well some of those people do end up winning the lottery.
And the chance of getting into medical school are significantly higher than the chance of winning the lottery

I love SDN.

Yesterday: No it's not too late! Go for it! Go you! If you want this nobody can stop you!

Today: Too late sorry. Janitor school.
