When does the next AMCAS and AACOMAS cycle open?

I would like to matriculate fall of 2012:

When does the next application cycle for both applications services open this spring?

AMCAS opens in May to begin filling it in, you can start submitting June 1st.

Not sure about the DO app. My guess is pretty similar dates.

This seems to suggest that you can start filling in your AMCAS in early May.

You can start filling it out early May (and I suggest you do). Plus, you can begin to submit LORs and Transcripts in early May. And definitely send in your transcripts as soon as you can because they will not process your app without them. You can wait on LORs, your app will be processed without LORs, but you won't be considered "complete" at any school until LORs are in.

You can't submit the app until June 1st.

Also, AMCAS doesn't actually start sending your application to schools until the end of June ... however, the earlier you get it in, the less time you have to wait for verification. Still, if it reduces your stress level at all, if you get it in early June (even if its not exactly on June 1st) you're in great shape

Make sure that's 12:01 Eastern. If you wait for Pacific, you've just lost the top 5 ranked schools.

I want to marticulate in the Fall of 2012 as well. I have a question for you on this, so you send you LOR also? I thought those were sent during secondaries? I know you need MCAT score and trascripts for screening purposes. I will fill out as early as possible!!!

You can submit your primary AMCAS app without LORs. However, a school will not really look over your primary until they receive your secondary and LORs. They look at all three together (unless they look at your primary first to screen).

So, the LORs are usually said to be grouped with secondaries, but you can send them in anytime after the primary app opens. LORs seem to be the the step that slows down applicants the most so you should get them and send them in as early as you can after AMCAS opens.
