When is not late?

I just got my MCAT score yesterday.

and I am finally into writing PS and finishing up the application.

I am wondering when is not late..I know ASAP would be the best, but

I would like to take some (or quite long) time on my PS.

The reason I havent got PS down yet is because I kept studying for MCAT

until yesterday cuz I really thought I would need to retake it. Turns out I

dont need to take that damn thing anymore..

I would like to set myself a deadline that is not late.

Is mid-July considered late?

Mid July would be fine, but I wouldn't go much past that. You aren't late if you apply after mid July, but you start lowering your chances of getting in as time progresses.

I would love to get things done before 4th of July, so I can just have some good time and no worry, but 5 days might not be enough to get a decent PS done..

Don't rush through your PS. Even if you submit in mid-July/late-July, you can start working on your secondaries in the meantime by looking up the 2007 and 2008 secondary question threads. Some schools already have their secondary questions up online.

The PS is a really important part of your app, a mediocre PS and very early application isn't going to help as much as a stellar PS and fairly early application.

just get your app IN. most people will write mediocre PS's. Unless you're a stellar or absolutely horrible writer, your PS isn't going to make or break you. it isn't "late" yet, but last year, i submitted my app in mid-July, and felt like applying earlier would have given me the extra boost i needed. so GET IT IN NOW!!!!

just for some perspective...last year I submitted my application on July 15th and it wasn't verfied until August 10th. 🙁. SO avoid the mid July rush to be verified ASAP. I thought I was in the middle of the pack, but got 3 April interviews and I am now on 4 waitlists and am applying again. (ps. send your transcripts ASAP if you haven't and be ready to submit when those are received.)

takes that long to be verified??!! was it because of the transcript or just the whole verification process took that long?

i got my transcript 'received' couple of weeks ago...
