I will be a upcoming junior this year after this summer is over. I have yet to take the GRE. I want to try and take it at least 2-3 times (im not a great test taker).

I understand that most schools look for a 1000 overall score for the GRE.

Could someone please advise me to when the best time to take it?

I have already completed 7/10 pre reqs. I have Chem 1 and 2 left, as well as Gen Bio 1

I would take it anytime from now to when you apply. I believe all or most schools want you to have GRE scores that are no older than 5 years from the date of application.

I actually already graduated college when I took my GRE so I didn't have anything else to study for which I believe helped me get an 1150. Its not great but to me its a good score.

So if you plan on taking a summer semester off anytime soon, I would take it then, so you can study for it solely.

I took the GRE right after taking Physics I. The GRE math was very similar to the Physics math in my opinion. Disclaimer - I'm returning to school so my most recent math class was 10 years prior. However, I made a 700Q.

As for the Verbal and Written -- studying may help, but in reality just take it. If you don't like your score then spend the time learning vocab.
