Is it usually the day of orientation or before that?

Acceptances may be made from the waitlist until the day the candidate begins orientation (or a pre-matriculation program) at another MD school. A candidate holding no acceptances can be called from the waitlist at any time, even after school starts (though being called later than the first week or so is very uncommon).
