When is the newest MSAR out? Or is the current one the newest?

Should I buy the MSAR? If so, why? How has it helped you?

Also, what is the current edition? When is the newest edition set to come out?

Huh? I would say whatever's out right now is the newest edition

If you have last year's MSAR, I doubt much has changed, but it wouldn't hurt to shell out $20 or whatever it is to make sure that you have the most up-to-date info.

The newest one is the one that is available now. The next one won'y come out until may 2011.

It is very helpful picking the right schools to apply to, and has good information for writing secondary essays. Seriously, most people's questions on here could be answered if they had an MSAR. It is really lame/stupid when people on the school specific threads post "I hope I get a secondary here" or "I'm so happy, they decided to give me a secondary" when if they looked in the MSAR they would see that the school does NOT screen; everyone gets a secondary! Happens all the time, and those people sound stupid.

The newest MSAR is for the 2011-2012 application cycle and its available from the aamc.

I have the 2010-2011 edition and have found it very helpful in choosing schools to apply to and giving information about secondaries/fees, and applicant information.

Buy the book. 2010-2011 is the most recent edition, and it came out in May or June, I believe. The next one probably won't come out until that time next year.
