Hey guys,

Say you're taking the NAPLEX, and there's 30 seconds left on the clock with 10 questions remaining. I know that the NAPLEX is not graded conventionally as a regular exam would be (percentage). So, in terms of your score, is it better to just quickly guess the remainder of the questions just to have completed the 185 questions, or is it best to leave them blank?

Also, is there a clock on the computer to tell you how much you've got left?

Thanks

I think it would be better to guess the questions than to leave the last few unanswered. It will count all of the unanswered questions as wrong. I guess it depends on how many you could get right by quickly guessing.

There is a clock on the screen, but you have the option of "hiding" it if you want.

Almost no ones runs out of time on the NAPLEX. Per NABP, the average person finishes in about 3 hours.

There is a clock the top right of the screen. It counts down from total time. When about 2 and 1/2 hours have passed, there is an option for a 10 minute break.

I took the exam on Feb. 8th. At the break, I had already answered 161 questions. I finished the exam with 1 hour and 45 minutes remaining.

I also left the exam thinking that it somehow tested me on the area of my weakness. I was pleasantly surprised with the results.

If left with a few questions and little time, don't panic. Write the letters A,B,C,D,E on the dry erase board and make smart quesses. Eliminate the 2 or 3 obviously wrong answers and make the best guess with the time you have.

Good luck.

I want to know if someone who took naplex can tell me if there is a signal or warning that the test will end soon or in the end one could know how many questions were completed ??? Since I was running out of time 10 min and 30 questions and a series of math questions I totally freaked out. Didn't know if I finished all the questions or not I just kept on randomly selecting the answers without thinking to finish all the questions. However, my test endup saying something like now you have finished the test and ThankYou for taking NAPLEX... so I am confused how could i finish all the question I am in doubt that I probably didn't answer all the questions and I will fail eventually. Please anyone help me, i am so scared. Please, please do reply 🙁

It's better to answer all questions. You may receive a penalty against your score if you do not answer them.
--------------------------------------
From NABP:
To receive a test score, you must have completed
at least 162 questions on the examination. Candidates
completing less than 162 questions will NOT have
their scores reported. Candidates who complete at least
162 questions, but fewer than 185 questions, will have
a penalty applied and their scores adjusted to reflect
the number of questions that remained unanswered.
Therefore, it is in the candidate's best interest to answer
all questions presented.
