I'm taking the January 1st mcat for 2012, and I saw that there's roughly 8 or so schools with april primary application deadlines (for the 2012 class). So is it too late if I wait for my mcat score to be released February 1st, and then apply once I have everything in? The reason I ask is because my cumulative gpa is not all that impressive- 3.2. My science gpa is only around a 3.1-3.2 as well. Also I landed a nice internship that starts in mid August where I will be working for oncologists. I really want to get into LECOM the most, and i'm confident my mcat will be around the 30s when I take it. I took the mcat once, and scored a 22 with no studying and only a few pre req classes complete. (Yes I know, I am an idiot for doing that).

So do you think my stats will be good enough? When should I apply to have a shot? Thank you for any advice you can provide..

if you are taking the January MCAT you need to wait until the 2013 application season the following June. You would have no viable chance that late so it isn't worth it.

+1

Wait a year. You will have a better chance if you apply early for the 2013 cycle.

the application process favors the early applicant. I believe there are about 25,000 seats in the country for medical school. By january, there is only a small percentage left.
