Here are my stats so you know my background: sGPA 3.2 and cGPA 3.4, I am taking two upper level biology courses ( one of them Molecular Cell Biology) and I plan to graduate next fall because I want to increase my GPA ( should be at 3.5) and biochem. I am a nontrad student with family and have withdrawals on my school record.

Should I apply now to podiatry school and take the MCAT in January or take MCAT in May or say August so that I have really good time to study for it and do well and apply next fall? I am really not sure what pod schools expect for non-trads. Thanks!

You could apply now, but it might be tight, especially if you haven't taken the MCAT yet, but I've heard of people getting acceptances in late winter.. You'll be able to get in with that GPA, as long as you don't bomb the MCAT.

I would vote for taking more time to study because your GPA will be good and with an awesome MCAT score you can get a lot of scholarship $$$ and that will justify the wait. Unless you have enough saved to pay it all off, then apply now before the June deadline

I suggest you do whatever ensures you the best possibility of the highest grades/MCAT you can achieve. From what I read on these boards, with a high twenties MCAT score and your GPA, you could be in the running for scholarship money.

If you feel you can squeeze a decent to solid MCAT score for the January sitting...then I say go for it. If not, then take your time and reap the rewards next cycle.
