This is just for time management and scheduling.

I'd like to know from people who have taken the DAT for suggestions about WHEN to take my full-length practice tests and when I should be DONE with all my practice tests and just be reviewing endlessly. I've seen people who have taken practice tests throughout their whole studying, spacing them out (to gauge progress). I've seen people who have taken practice tests 2 weeks after their complete review, taking it up until test day.

I've only taken like 2 full-length practice tests so far. They're decent scores. Ideally, I'd like to know when should be my last day to take a practice test?

Should my last full-length practice test be done 2 weeks before my DAT date? 1 week? 2 days? Should I be taking a NEW full-length practice test 2-3 days leading up to the big day?

To me, I want to be finished with everything and all practice tests 1 week before the big day, and the following week will just be reviewing, and retaking the same full-length practice tests and making sure I learn from my mistakes. Is that a smart thing to do?

from what i've read on here (strictly that, not from personal experience), i heard its best to keep taking whatever tests maybe right up until the day before, so as to keep some sort of 'momentum' going into the big day..

👍

Can they just be OLD material/old practice tests that you've already taken or NEW material?

What if your confidence gets shot down the day before!....

i say way before the exam, so A you build stamina and B you can review your mistakes. whats the point of taking an exam the day before and not learning anything from it? I find all the resources helpful when I review them a few times. I'd rather do an easy exam the day before just to be in the 5 hour zone and get a free confidence boost, but I wouldnt waste a precious practice exam that I could have reviewed a few times beforehand.

I had my last pratice test one week before the test day and I had been doing PAT from Achiever for the last week and review the old materials. For the day before test,
I first visited the test center ( got an idea about how long it takes me from my my home to there) and then spent the rest of time on reviewing.

it really depends on you. I never took a full length exam my 2nd time and did fine.

I did put hr and 45 each day for qr and pat. every day the last two weeks leading up to 2 days before the exam down.

I think though that its better for you do a full length 2 days before you exam. You want to give yourself a mental break the day before. It also helps that if you say "bombed" the practice it won't be hanging over you the night before.

If you absolutely must do something then you can something light the day before. few flash cards and basic stuff then break.

Don't do a full length the day before! Do one a few days before. The day before, rest and light review. You won't learn anything new.

review everything you feel you'll forget; its good to go into the test with a "warmed up" brain. just like a cold engine in the winter, you dont turn it on and drive at 60 mph right away; you warm it up and make sure you know what you need to know.

its best to read stuff the easily forgotten material the morning of the exam; this way you dont forget it during the exam
