Hey Everyone!
I just wanted to know when should I begin applying to dental schools if I'm going to graduate in 2011? By the way, I'm a sophmore Biology major!

apply the summer before your senoir year in May/June

you would need to take the DAT around that time as well

start getting recommendation letters and talk to your pre-health committee

oh and start shadowing a dentist if you havent already

Good advice.

I would also begin looking at some pre-reqs for the schools you are interested in so you won't have to worry about cramming them into Spring qtr of senior year.

If you have just eighteen hours per semester to graduate by that date then you should apply the year before your graduation date. If you have alot of hours left to complete then the dental schools will not want to gamble on your ability to complete them. I applied early and I had 39 hours left in my last two semesters, I did it but the dental school was not sure if I would and was not willing to reserve a spot for someone who might not be able to attend.
