If my AMCAS primary application is already verified, do I technically have until June 27th to designate which schools to send it to in order to be part of the first batch of applications sent out? Will it affect how quickly I get my secondaries if I designated the schools today versus on the 27th?

Thanks!

I don't really know for sure, but I'd select at least some schools by the 26th just so you have a list on the 27th when they start sending them out. Not sure if schools added on that day are sent your info or not, but regardless you'd still get secondaries real quick. Have you started to think about schools you want to apply to yet?

Don't freak out so much about the exact date. Getting your application in a day or two sooner or later is not going to affect your chances at all. How quickly you can turn around quality secondaries will have a bigger effect. Also, keep in mind that some schools don't start looking at the applications until a little later: July, even August in some cases.

To answer your question, once you are verified, and as soon as the release date rolls around, I am pretty sure AMCAS forwards you application right away. Some medical schools download data from AMCAS once a day, others several times a day, others every couple of days.
