When should I register to take my DAT?

Hey everyone!

So I'm planning to take the DAT at the bed of May or maybe even early June. When do you guys think I should start registering for the test so I get a spot open?

I scheduled my DAT the first day of studying. That was my second time taking the DAT.
My first time taking the exam, I attempted to schedule it 3 weeks before my ideal date. The dates were not only at inopportune times, I had to travel 3 hours to get a mediocre spot.

Hi,

It depends where you live, and how many test sites you could potentially travel to. You can check the calendar dates now, before signing up (I am assuming you are from the United States?). I signed up for my exam about 2.5 months in advance. Some testing sites did not have the date I wanted available anymore, but luckily there were multiple sites near me so I got one in the end.

Google "locate a test center prometric." click on the prometric link, locate ADA as the sponsor, and click "I want to.... locate a test center" (the green button)

Enter your state, choose DAT as the exam, and then enter your address. You can choose "availability" after you locate a specific testing site, and a calendar will pop up && you can view all available dates.

Thanks so much that helped a lot! I found what I needed! Also, do you know what happens if you need to change a date? Are you able to switch the date as long as there are spots, and if so, what is the time period to do this?

You can switch dates at any time (within your 6 month registration period) if there are spots open up to 1 business day before the exam. The difference is the fee you pay for changing the date:
