When should I start filling out the AMCAS application?

Hey everyone, So I have been given advice about the timeline that I should be following, but should i be filling out the AMCAS app now for the 2015 entry year for matriculation for med school in the fall of 2016?

At this point, I would focus on activities, MCAT and grades. AMCAS does not open till May so in your case the first date to actually start your primary is May 1st, 2015.

IF you have time and motivation to spare, you could start drafting your personal statement and summarizing your activities that you have already completed. Again, only do that IF you have grades, MCAT and activities all in order. If you are taking classes or studying for the MCAT, that is your priority.

don't enter any thing on amcas right now. it would not transfer over to the next cycle and all your work would be wasted. Instead focus on your grades and mcat. Also start thinking about what to write for your personal statement, since a good one takes a long time to plan, write, and revise.
