Here is the story. So I have previously taken the MCAT and received an abysmal score that would probably have me screened out at almost all places. I will be retaking the MCAT at the end of July and get my score back at the end of August. My application is ready to submit now, but should I go ahead and submit now or wait until later in July? I do not want to be screened out by schools because of my bad earlier score. Do I wait so that the schools will see my new score with my application or submit now? Please help!

Most MD schools don't pre-screen secondaries so they can collect the app fees.

So they will only seriously look at my application once the secondaries are submitted to them?

MSAR gives information on whether or not schools screen. Many do not, and those that do have guidelines that won't screen out too many people because as a previous poster said, it's all about making money.

I've heard that the screen for Mayo (Mayo!) is GPA x 10 + MCAT = 60 or higher.
