Hey everyone,
I'm a sophomore now and will have taken gen chem, organic, bio, and genetics by the end of this semester. I haven't started studying for the DAT yet since I was planning on doing that this summer - I'm going to Italy for the month of May, so I'll probably really start studying by the middle of June and study through early August. I've never done any PAT practice. I think I should be OK for the chem, orgo, bio, math sections after reviewing them a little this summer but feel iffy about the perceptual ability portion.

That being said, when should I take the DAT? I'm applying for the 2012 cycle. Right now, I'm thinking about taking it in September if possible - that way the classes I've already taken will still be fresh in my mind and I can get it out of the way relatively early and still have time to take it the summer after this one if my score isn't where I want it to be.

Next year I will take biochem and physiology. Do you think I should just take it once in the summer after next year instead of this summer?

Any advice is greatly appreciated

Sounds like a good plan, bearing in mind that your DAT scores will only be valid for two years.
