just wondering if someone had suggestions as to when should i take the oat in regards to the subject matter.

for example, should i take it after covering two semesters each of bio/chem/physics/o chem etc? or is one semester of those subjects enough to prepare me?

i'm eager to know since i'm now taking prereqs as a non trad student and it seems like if i need to take all these prereqs first before taking the OAT, then i won't be ready until the fall that i'm hoping to start opt school.

i basically wanted to take all the prereqs(basically all of them since my undergrad didn't cover anything) in two years and apply early enough that i can have acceptance/rejections be the end of those classes so i don't have a gap year.

make sense?

TIA

i think your plan sounds a little rushed, but it's probably do able.

at the minimum, you'll need this:
2 semesters of Bio, physics, and chem.
1 semester of ochem
Then add in the additional time needed to prep for QR and reading - don't underestimate these sections.

other classes that will help:
- physiology
- another semester of ochem

g'luck.

I agree with the above. Physiology really helped me out on the test though. I highly recommend the class.

I did the OAT with only one bio, and physics and I had no physiology. I too am taking most of the prerequisites this year. When I wrote the OAT I took the Kaplan on-line course, which actually covered everything that I needed to know for the exam and I could work at my own pace. I scored really well on my OAT and got accepted to Pacific last week so it is possible. I understand your desire to not waste more time now that you've decided what you want to do. If you are going to take the OAT this year it is going to take time to study for it. I learned all the information during the summer and it felt like a full time job but it was worth it for me. Best of luck

if you don't mind, how well did you do on the oat? also, how long did you study for it?

about 2 months. I scored a 350 AA and 360TT. it got me into Pacific last week😀. I did it during the summer so i had that kinda of time. it was work at your own pace so i could have gone faster.
