I'm currently a junior. I"ve finished organic chemistry, general chemistry, calculus, and biology. Now, i'm taking first semester of A&P. Even though I just finished all those classes last year, I feel like i have not master it all. I feel very incompetent and don't know how long I should take a time out to study them again. For those of you who have taken the PCAT already, how soon should you prepare for it? I"m thinking of taking the test in Jan 06 but I"m scare that 4 months is not enough for me to catch up with all the materials. I"m not really good at english so vocabulary would throw me off. So, should I wait longer, finish A&P and then take the test in June 06?

Also, how should I prepare for the PCAT? Is the Kaplan book sufficient or should I sign up for PCat professor?

I am currently using audiolearn pcat test prep cd's they seem to be helping me retain information. I plan on using them for at least a month before I take the pcat.

It depends on when you are trying to apply. And as you said that you finished org chem, gen chem, bio, calculus and you will finish a&p-I before JAN,then you should have no problems because you will get five weeks after the fall semester(X'mas break) unless verbal section( which is very time consuming) is a problem for you. I finished chem in 4 days bio in 1 week and math should not take more than a week. i studied 5-6 hours a day. Remember they test you on how well you know the concepts. Kaplan and barron's is enough to get a good score on the test. And if you find something difficult to understand from kaplan then use your class notes or your text.

you have not taken a&p II. you can take your chances on that but make sure you get it. Study from kaplan. PCAT is about what you studied in your pre pharm, so i don't think you really have to study too hard but a lot of stuff to refresh.
Also this is what decides your career so if you have to wrok hard do it. 😀 Good luck!!!
