I'm not sure when I should take the PCAT, orginally, I was going to take it in August until....

I started taking a Kaplan study course in mid April. We took an initial diagnostic PCAT and I scored in the 80th percentile without any studying or review. The course is pretty intense and I've been keeping up with it by doing about 4-5 hours of studying for it each day. The course reccomends that you take the PCAT offered soonest after the course ends, this would be the test offered in June. I feel like this is the best time for me to take it even though I would have only been studying for approximently 2 months. My goal is to score in the 90th precentile when I take the test.

So when do guys think is the best time to take the test? June or August?

Thanks

June! If it goes badly in June, you can still take it in August. If it goes badly in August, you have to take that score. And yes, you want to take it as soon as possible after finishing the course so everything is still fresh.

But can you still get in to the June date? That's like 8 weeks away.

I actually already signed up for the june one, i was just making sure i shouldn't cancel it or take a no score.

So retaking the test isn't that big of a deal then? Do pharmacy schools see that you took it twice? And do they average the scores together?

Thank you for the response

Schools will see both PCAT scores, but usually they take the higher score. Some schools have different policies, like they use the most recent score, so you will have to do some research. I agree you should take it in June as the material will be really fresh for you. It sounds like you've done more than enough studying and should be just fine.
