Hi

I woke up to a phone call recently, from a school who's supplemental I have overlooked. The admissions lady asked me if I was planning to submit or withdraw the app. I stumbled awkwardly through an answer of, "I'm not sure I'll have the money for the plane ticket, and I'm thinking it over."

(Not the best answer, I know. I was pretty groggy.)

The lady said something I couldn't quite understand, thanked me, and said goodbye.

Now, in my mind, they're just wondering "can we toss this app in the garbage instead of cluttering up the place, or what?" But, I've read that it could mean that they're interested and trying to prompt me into sending the secondary.
This would be good...it is a VERY top-tier school.
I'm sending the app, out of renewed interested. But, what are your opinions on why a school would call like this?

Probably a combination of following up to see if you're still interested, and also wanting the secondary fee.

Very possible.

But, I didn't return quite a few supplementals last season, and they never called, then. Why now?

Just being courteous and looking for your money... BU contacted me and actually ended up inviting me to interview though so maybe the call does indicate some sincere interest.

yea it just seems like if they can afford to pay someone to call you and ask about your secondary then they aren't hurting for money that badly. I've not returned many secondaries in my 2 cycles and no one has ever called me. I'd submit it and see what happens if it was me.

what school was this?

VCOM called me last cycle for this very reason. Then I received an additional phone call from a current VCOM student. We chatted for a while and he encouraged me to apply, saying that he had been contacted in the same manner when he applied, and that the school was interested.

Submitted the secondary, and emailed an LOI. Gonna call them tomorrow and try to squeeze some info out of them.
