So I read the post about the rush to June 2nd and I just had a quick question. I planned on applying June 2nd, but I don't take the DAT until June 11th. Should I just not both applying until after I take the DAT? It's literally 10 days later.. just spend the time studying and not worry about applying until after the DAT?

Yea I know it's not. My I just know some schools won't review an application until complete, so just curious if there is even a real reason to apply before I take the DAT

In your case, its negligible IMO because the time it takes for your DAT to be processed is longer than the time it will take to complete your application.

If you were taking it in July or August then I would say to apply first.

If I'm taking a Summer Course that ends at the end of June should I wait to send my application until that course is on the transcript, or send my application ASAP and just list that course and possible fall courses as "Plan to Take" and use Academic update later?

IMO, you can afford to wait to send your transcript if it ends in June.

If you submit current transcripts, then the summer class won't be included. Decide if you want to include or not, if yes then you must wait until it is completed. If it makes a substantial difference, then wait. If the difference is very small, then it doesn't really matter.


Otherwise, the next time you can update is during academic update beginning in November.

Your DAT will take 2-3 weeks to be processed and imported into your application regardless.

How long does it take for the transcripts to be processed? and we have to fill out the application first and include matching form along with the transcript when mailing out so I can't send transcripts until I finish the application right?

It took about a week for my transcripts to arrive. Once they did, I was verified the next day (late July), and applied the following day.

so you applied to dental schools after you sent your transcripts? I was under the impression that you have to include the matching form from completed application with the transcript. sorry i am having hard time understanding the whole process.

The matching form is available on AADSAS after you make an account. You send it in with your transcripts.

You can't make an account until it opens.

You have to wait until the application opens so you can enter the schools you have attended and then it will give you the matching form.
