Hi Guys,

I'm planning on taking the DATs in early november, and hopefully getting my applications out in december for enrollment in Fall of 2005 I know this is late. Would I have a better chance if I waited and applied early in the year for enrollment in 2006? Also is it frown upon to apply to dental schools twice or to take the DAT several times?

Thanks,
Linh

Obviously it is to your disadvantage to apply late. But there would be nothing wrong with reapplying for next year as well. Wait to see what you get on the DAT, yours will have to be on the higher end of the school's average to make up for the lateness. Also look for schools that have a large class because they are usually behind in their admissions process.

Hi Linh
I would consider getting your application out prior to your taking the DAT. Doing so would get your application out to the schools, and when you take the big test, your scores will be jettisoned right to them. It will take AADSAS a lot longer to process your application than to have your DAT scores sent to the schools. If you haven't already done so, then I would create an account with AADSAS, enter in your courses, and start working on your personal statment. Doing so will only save you time and energy later on (especially if you are going to be working and going to school). Best of luck! 👍
