When to Apply

Hi everyone, I need some advice (again.)regarding when to apply... I'm not sure when should I apply if I want to apply for the next fall (2005) optometry school. I know we should apply ASAP becoz some schools are on a rolling admission. But my case is that 1.) my GPA sin't that great. (2.9 <--I think), 2.) I haven't write the OAT 3.) I haven't got 3 recommandation letters yet.

I'm going to start 4th yr in sept, should I wait until the first term of my 4th yr to finish so that I can bump up my GPA and finish writing the OAT or should I apply now and send in my OAT score, etc etc later on?

Which will be more suitable for me?

Ask the schools you want to apply to. From what I've gathered about the application process eveerything doesn't have to go in at once. So you may be able to send in your application, then have your OAT score forwarded, then get your ref. letters together and have them sent throughtout the semester, and then as you get your fall/winter semester transcript send it in as well. If they like your profile but are worried about your GPA a nice transcript from first semester may open their eyes a little bit and grant you an interview. Granted, you don't get the all at once effect, but this would ensure your application doesn't all get delayed because of some small technicality. Everything is in earlier then it needs to be, no mess no fuss 🙂
