Hey, I was wondering if you can help me out. When a school ask for a certain deadline like Oct 1st. Does it help to send it earlier.. Lets say August. Is earlier the better? Do people have a better chance sending earlier than others? Or sending it on the deadline is just as good as those who send it early? Thanks 🙂

It really depends on the school's admissions process. Certain schools have rolling admissions where they review applications as they are received, send interview invites out, and offer admissions. In rolling admissions, the spaces could fill up before the deadline. So, in the case of rolling admissions the earlier the better. However, if a school does not utilize rolling admissions, it doesn't really matter when you send in your application. You can find out if a school uses a rolling admissions format by looking at their information on PTCAS.

Hey! I'm not sure where all you are looking to apply, but I, personally, would suggest applying as early as you can. It's always going to be to your advantage. In just getting it done and out of the way, and it may even look better to certain schools. I know for one school I sent my application early for other school's deadlines and even though their deadline was much later, I think they put priority in interview scheduling because of that. Especially if it is rolling admission, of course spots will fill up. And sometimes it's hard to tell if they are rolling admin specifically because they may not make it clear when they start notifying applicants. And I know for my sanity applying while taking my final classes to graduate I've definitely benefitted in getting it done early. I think that's something I wish someone had told me when I was going through it, so I just wanted to give you my two cents. Good luck! 🙂

Early is better and takes the stress off trying to keep track of deadlines. If you happen to get an offer before the holidays......even if not from your first choice....you can breath easier knowing you have a seat somewhere. Good Luck

Absolutely! 👍👍

Do most schools ask you to have your classes completed before you apply or is 1-2 classes ok after you apply?

Yes, I definitely think so! I don't have the greatest stats but I aimed to get everything in Aug/Sept and have been in first-round interviews for several schools I wanted to go to.
Also, it's okay if you don't have 1-2 classes before you apply, you just have to let them know you're going to complete them before classes start (I'm pretty sure).

I agree with everyone that applying early helps you get into earlier interviews (at least it did for me). Also, I personally think it shows the schools that you are really interested and prepared as well. As for prerequisites, 1-2 should be fine. I had 2-3 pending and still got accepted into most of the schools I applied to. Most schools will allow you to have up to 2 pending prerequisites.

seriously this site is awesome. I really appreciate everyone's input 🙂 thanks for the heads up. Ill be working hard *pew pew*
