I am currently finishing up my second year at a local community college, and I will hopefully be applying for MD school in June of 2019. While I plan on getting most of my LORs from professors at the four-year college I am transferring to, there are a few professors that I would like letters from at the C.C.
When is the best time to ask for them? Granted, I won't need them for a year after I ask for them. I *believe* I am a pretty memorable person, but when profs have a bunch of students I don't know how fresh I will be in their mind after a year.
What is the best way to proceed? Hint at a LOR now and request it later? Show up over spring break next year and ask for it? Or just shoot them an email (they'll remember me, right?)
I'm just worried because I won't have much contact with them once I move to a four year uni. Thanks for your help!!!!

Just a thought on how to stay in contact: see if you can be a tutor or teaching assistant or help with labs for some of those courses once you leave, if jobs like that exist.

I’d say wait to bring up LOR until you need it. You might discover enough or better connections at the 4year and not need it. Or maybe you’ll get a new job or volunteer gig and get some there. Stop by CC campus if you can to visit once a semester in the meantime maybe to maintain some connections if you need the letters (or just for genuine conversation or mentoring).
