So when do you think the right time is to close the books? In other words, when should you stop expecting more interview offers to come in? Obviously, it's only the middle of October and would be premature at this point. But the time is coming to start booking flights and finalizing plans. I'm not sure how far into November or even December offers roll in. I hope it's not too long or those programs may get ruled out by virtue of not making it onto the travel calendar.

I have scheduled the interviews I have recieved, but I anticipate many more to go out after the Dean's letter is released. I am going to give it until december before I finalize plans and start making travel arrangements. I plan on canceling interviews I have now if I get interviews at more competitive places and cannot/ do not want to do both.

Dr Nick's strategy makes sense. My window for interviewing is a bit tighter than that so I'm going to have to see what I can squeeze in. Do you think that a lot of IM programs are waiting for the MSPE though? It's such a standardized letter these days that the program can get most of the info from your transcript.
