Honestly, my panic moment for me was May. I had 2 pre-December interviews that ended up as waitlists, I heard nothing until April when I received an interview invitation, and when I didn’t hear back from that school in May I assumed they gave me a silent rejection (I started seriously preparing myself for Cycle 2 with a post-bacc program lined up starting end of May). And then a week before the 2020 cycle opened in mid-June, I got my acceptance to the spring interview school. My advice is that it’s never too early to start preparing for round two; maybe don’t make commitments right now, but ask yourself “How can I improve my candidacy?” and stem some ideas from there. Best case scenario, you can toss those ideas aside and plan for dental school instead, and if that doesn’t happen you’ll at least be improving yourself early for the next cycle.
