When to schedule for a test?

How far in advance should you schedule for the OATs? Thanks!

When you know you'll be ready for them, duh. You can always postpone the test date for free.

I gave myself a 3 month period to study, then scheduled it a month in advance. I (and I think a lot of other people) panicked the week before the test thinking that I wasn't ready. I'm glad I didn't postpone the test though, good luck!

Also, if I remember correctly, almost all the days are available at the Prometric Centers. So don't worry about 'slots being filled up.'

This depends on a lot of factors such as what location you're taking it at and the time of the year.

I wanted to take mine on a Saturday, about 6 weeks out. But none were available for week 6-10.

Easier to plan ahead then change if something arises IMO.

thanks for all your replies! I wasnt sure if there were set dates to take the OATs (like how it was for the SATs). Now I just have to decide on a date...
