What have you heard about scheduling intreviews?

I read on one post that later on in the intreview season (Jan) would result in you being more fresh in the program director's mind when it comes time for ranking. Also, you would have a better idea yourself when rakning a program in Feb. However, this sounds rather unlikely. I doubt that programs are that poorly run.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Hello

It probably does not make much of a difference, since most programs use an objective grading system, so they can compare apples to apples. I would avoid very early and very late spots in the interview season, but otherwise any time should be ok. Also avoid interviews too close to the holidays, as the PD and the more prestigious faculty might be gone.

lf

My theory has been put them whenever I can fit them in. Now that I'm up to #11 and unable to interview in Nov. at all due to an externship, and also with some programs having limited interview days, it's very hard to find a spot where I don't already have another interview scheduled. I really doubt they'll hold your interview date against you.

Just wondering..I've been invited to 6 interviws so far and they've all been either fri-sat or sat-sun.. Is there anyway a program would let you interview at another time if it would'nt be possible for you otherwise?
