I have to plan out my vacation times for my job while in my glide year. I have had one interview, but am waiting to hear from a couple of other schools. If I am lucky to grab a late interview, I would like to make sure that they coincide with my vacation times.

So when do late interview normally happen? Which week in April and May would you take off? Schools I'm currently waiting for:
Loma Linda
Drexel
Jefferson
Rosalind Franklin
Creighton

Thanks.

honestly, interviews are already in their ending stages, with most schools concluding in march. if you are really hoping for another interview to schedule work around, march or very very unlikely april.

good luck though

I don't know about the other schools on the list, but I believe Rosalind Franklin interviews into May and Jefferson into April. Can you take your vacation in late May because most schools would definitely be done by then? Also, how long is your vacation? If it is short like 1 or 2 weeks and the interview date is during your vacation, you can always ask to reschedule for an earlier date if available.

I wouldn't plan on getting any more interviews at this point, and I definitely would not try to plan around the possibility of getting them. Take your vacation as it's convenient for you. Your job will just have to eat it if you do wind up having to leave for a day or two.

I was thinking of taking one week in April, one in May. The truth is, I'd really like to plan as if I'm going to medical school in July. That would mean that my vacations would be used for the purpose of interviewing. But if I don't get in, I would be left without a vacation until 2011.

Anyone in a similar situation? BTW, I need to request my time off a month in advance.
