I got waitlisted from my top choice school Wednesday and I plan on staying in touch with them to increase my chances of getting off the waitlist. I am just curious when the best time to send a letter of intent would be? Also, how often should I reach out to them? I want them to remember me, but I also don't want to be annoying. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Following! Also curious as to the approximate character count the letter should be

You can send a letter of intent a month or two after your interview if you have not heard back from your top-choice school or if you were placed on a waitlist. It’s best to write a bit later in the admissions season, after you’ve interviewed at multiple schools (if you have done so), so that you can demonstrate that you’ve legitimately considered all the options available to you, and that you are certain that THIS school is the one for you. You can send more than one letter of intent to your top-choice school with a gap of at least two weeks in the middle, and only if you have significant developments to communicate in the second letter. Also remember that the letter of intent should be a well-thought out and formal letter, and it should be a maximum of one page.
