When to start AADSAS and external transcripts

I'm a bit confused about whether I register with AADSAS in May and send them my stuff, or send AADSAS my stuff before May and AADSAS send out my stuff in May. Also, I am going to have to get transcripts for colleges in which I took summer classes, when should I submit my request for a transcript to them?

You can't send transcripts to AADSAS until you establish a record there, that means not until after mid-May. The reason is that you have to send the schools you are requesting transcripts from a matching form to go together with the transcripts they submit to AADSAS, and that matching form is not available until after AADSAS starts the new application cycle.... that is if I remember the process correctly...

Access to AADSAS for 2007 applicants won't be available until usually May. But if i were you, I would get an 2006 account ASAP (if you can) to see everything that you need to do, and have it DONE before or during May. Because TRUST me it will be a billion times easier to get into all of the schools you chose to apply. I've been rejected at schools where my stats were way higher then their averages just b/c I submitted my app at the beginning of september. Not only that, but i interviewed at a school that expected applications to be submitted by May or else you couldn't even get on the wait list. They said they only invited me b/c they said i was very competitive and need to get my appl. in may if i reapplied next year. There is a submit button you click on after it's all done. Then you pay for it all. Back to what you asked about...you can't send anything to AADSAS until you've got an account...b/c there is a cover sheet needed so that they know exactly who's stuff it is when they get it. ALL that info. is there in your account though. It's easier to just get an account and look at how everything works. If you send your transcripts, letters of recommendation, etc. to AADSAS, it will tell you in your account when they've recieved it. However a lot of schools aren't taking transcripts from AADSAS anymore, so make sure you have them sent to all of your schools as well as AADSAS. Remember it takes about a month for AADSAS to calculate your GPA's, etc. after they've recieved them. So send them out ASAP. Also, make sure you get in all the supplemental stuff for each school...that's something I got in late as well. I think you will be less confused if you just get an account and look at everything. But remember get your stuff in ASAP and your chances of getting into dental school will go way up!

alright! sooo, apply and send in mid-may when application is open. send transcripts from all previous schools to aadsas, have letters of rec sent to aadsas (once, and all together, if possible), send dat scores (if not taken) asap. that it? phew 👍

Yes, you do. Every year you re-apply you start from scratch and have to create an account (login, etc.) & re-submit everything all over again, including transcripts and LoRs.

Called AADSAS this morning and they said they just closed this cycle and that the new cycle will begin some time in mid May. They said you do create a new application. I went in and tried to use my same username and email but it kept rejecting it. AADSAS once the new cycle begins you will be able to use the same email addy.

Can't I request official transcripts from schools to be sent to me now (sealed of course) and then I submit them to to ASDAS come mid may after creating an account?

I don't think AADSAS or dental schools themselves like getting transcripts from the student (even if the envelope is still sealed). I don't remember where I heard/read that...but I'm pretty sure it's true. Official transcripts have to be mailed directly by your school.
