this ? may have been asked before.....and it is a lame question admittedly...😳

i can either submit ERAS sept. 1 (of next year of course!) without having AOA status on there (will likely be inducted, but won't find out until MID-sept) versus wait until the 2nd-3rd week fo sept to send out the application. i was curious what people would do in such a situation. thanks for anyone's advice 🙂 🙂

AOA status is one of the things you CAN update after you submit ERAS (it goes with the personal information, not the CAF). I was inducted in early-October and added it to my file.

I say submit your ERAS early and you CAN update your AOA status should it change in mid-season.

That's also a nice thing to email your top programs about just to let them know about the change in AOA status and possibly open up a line of communication. (Obviously, this should be done tactfully)

thanks guys. i was informed by current 4th yrs at my school that it could not be updated. that is wonderful news!! thanks so much.

There are only 1 or 2 things that CAN be updated, and one of them is AOA status. Plan on the rest of your application being set in stone once you certify (or whatever they call it).

In addition to updating ERAS, know that you can also email program directors the update about your AOA status, or anything else (Golden Humanism, publications, grades, etc.)
