I am planning out my schedule and was thinking of taking it in the fall of my senior year, but that would leave a gap of over a year with no chemistry because I will be done with organic sophomore year. Would that gap hurt me or would I still be fine with that 1+ year gap?

I don't see why it would...

Honestly, when I took biochem, I don't really remember orgo stuff as much. It's good to still remember the basics when taking biochem. But, I think you will be fine if you decide to have a break from chem for a year.

But, taking biochem right after orgo can really help you in terms of memorizing stuff, because a lot of the chemicals and mechanics were discussed in more details in orgo.

It's your call, really... I don't think the gap will hurt you. But, taking it right after orgo can help (plus, you want to just get it over with! lol).

It's a non-issue - take it whenever it best fits into your schedule.
