When to take DAT

Hi Guys,

I'm currently studying for the DAT right now and plan to take it end of the september. It will be my first time and hopefully last, but I was wondering if I had to take it again, is frowned upon? And when is the latest w/o making it tight on time for me to take it a second time for enrollment of fall 2006? Also is the reading comprehension on top score pretty accurate when it comes to the real DAT? I took a practice yesterday, and was slightly distracted, and had 5 mins left, but was too lazy to look over more of my answers, and I scored a 23, and was quite suprised and pleased, so just wondering.

it's not necessarily frowned upon, but the adcoms do get to see how many times you've taken it and the scores.... If you take it at end of september it is doubtful you will be able to retake it in time for 2006, except maybe at a very few number of schools.
