If I want to take a year off after i finish my last year in undergrad, when should I take the DAT? And I only want to take one year off, no more. Thanks!

Obviously, you should take the exam when you're ready. 2-3 months of studying would be sufficient to prepare for the exam. So, you really don't need to take a whole year off to prepare for this exam, unless you really want to!!

That is what I am doing and I am taking my DAT in about 3 weeks. You should plan to take the test either during or at the end of your senior year. Like I said, I am taking it Aug 3rd, but I wish I had taken it a little earlier. This means you will apply in June after you graduate and than start the following summer.

The latest I would take it would be around early april 2010, because then if you do badly, you can wait the 90 days and retake in early june, and still be golden for the cycle, vs taking it in june and then if you do badly, you'll have to wait until august, which is a long time and late in the cycle
